This part of ISO/TS 29002 specifies an interface to retrieve information from a concept dictionary. The interface can be used to retrieve both terminology and ontology information, and to search for concepts. The interface is specified as a set of concept dictionary resolution services (CDRS). The services are specified abstractly so that multiple bindings can be defined. A Web Services Definition Language (WSDL) Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) binding, which all CDRS implementations are required to support, is included in this part of ISO/TS 29002. The following are within the scope of this part of ISO/TS 29002: specification of a mechanism to resolve a unique concept identifier to its service provider; specification of an identification scheme and identifier format for retrievable objects in a concept dictionary; specification of a mechanism to retrieve the terminology associated with a concept and other objects from the terminology reference model, given the identifier of the concept or object; specification of a mechanism to search for concepts and other objects from the terminology reference model, using a set of search patterns and parameters; definition of a mechanism to retrieve the ontological description of a concept, given the identifier of the concept; Web Services Definition Language (WSDL) Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) binding of the specified services. The following are outside the scope of this part of ISO/TS 29002: specification of a conceptual model and exchange format for concept dictionary terminology; specification of the ontological representation of the underlying dictionary; EXAMPLE ISO 13584-32 and ISO/TS 22745-30 are specifications of ontological representations for different dictionary systems. specification of the data elements that are sent back by means of the data model dependent ontological representation; constraints on the business model for operation of the service; constraints on the business model for maintenance of the dictionary; exchange and maintenance of Location Service provider records.
