This standard describes the sample preparation of milk and liquid milk products for the purpose of radioactivity measurements. The standard starts from milk sampled in accordance with NVN 5632. The method described is suitable for use in case of accidents but can also be used for background monitoring. The milk sample can be used for various radioactivity measurements (e.g. gamma spectrometry) or, after calcination, to determine total alpha, total beta or specific radionuclides.
