The present publication applies to contamination monitors and warning assemblies specifically provided for hands and/or feet, irrespective of wether or not the hands or feet are bare. These assemblies comprise at least: - a detector sub-assembly; - a measuring sub-assembly. The publication is applicable to: - alpha hand and/or foot contamination monitors; - alpha hand and/or foot contamination warning assemblies; - beta hand and/or foot contamination monitors; - beta hand and/or foot contamination warning assemblies. The publication is not applicable to the operating characteristics of indicating or recordering instruments as such (.e.g. indicating meters, recorders, alarms, etc.).
