This standard applies to quartz crystal controlled oscillators intended for use in electronic applications and which are commercially available as separate and independent units. It should be used in conjunction with IEC Publication 68: Basic Environmental Testing Procedures. To establish uniform conditions for assessing the mechanical, electrical and climatic properties of quartz crystal controlled oscillators; to describe test methods and to provide guidance in the use and maintenance of quartz crystal controlled oscillators.
