NEN 11302

Electrical insulating materials - Method to evaluate the resistance to tracking and erosion - Rotating wheel dip test

active, Most Current
Organization: NEN
Publication Date: 1 August 1995
Status: active
Page Count: 36
ICS Code (Insulating gases): 29.040.20
scope:

Describes a method of test for comparing the performance of insulating materials, when they are exposed intermittently to a liquid contaminant and then to an a.c. electric stress along their surface. The test apparatus uses a rotating where on which standard rod- or tube-shaped specimens, fitted with electrodes at each end, are located around the periphery of the wheel. The test conditions are such that materials suitable for use out of doors normally fail within a few thousand hours.
