scope:

This CWA specifies and gives guidance to the implementation of business scenarios and XML templates for extensive B2B collaborations in the domain of purchasing and subcontracting of textiles and garment products. The present document is applicable to the Textile-Clothing industry and its related Retail organizations. Focus is on the following areas: -Collaboration scenarios for the manufacturing integration and between retail organizations and manufacturers (as a sectoral BPSS according with ebXML specifications) -Updated TEXSPIN XML document templates for the Textile Clothing for fabrics and clothing supplying -New XML document templates for the Textile Clothing manufacturing and yarn supplying processes -New XML document templates towards the Textile Clothing retail organizations This CWA, produced within the CEN/ISSS Workshop TEXWEAVE, build in the experience of the preceding CEN/ISSS Workshop TEXSPIN (referred to as 'TEXSPIN') which was held in the years 2002 - 2004. TEXSPIN put in evidence the need to improve the coverage of the supply chain through specialised XML document templates to consolidate the TEXSPIN framework (Ref. CWA 14948:2004 'Guidelines for XML/EDITEX messages in the textile/clothing sector'). In the manufacturing area, the approach to specialise the document templates contributes to maintain efficacy and simplicity but requires that each kind of relationship is analysed in details in order to produce the correct XML document reference template. A detailed analysis is also needed because of the complexity of the relationships, especially downstream, where the exchange of information between retailer and manufacturer takes place. The policy aims of the WS/TEXWEAVE CWAs are twofold: to offer the company a clearer collaboration framework and improve their propensity to join it.
