NEN 3207 provides two systems for composing designations for electric cables and flexible cords which contain an abbreviated description of their construction and the materials used in these cables and flexible cords. Furthermore, this standard contains examples and designations showing how these designations are composed. This standard applies to insulated electrical cables and flexible cords intended for use in power installations. The standard applies both to non-harmonised cables and flexible cords (Section II) and harmonised cables and flexible cords (Section III).
