NEN 6681

Waste water - Volumetric determination of carbon dioxide and oxygen in gases

inactive, Most Current
Organization: NEN
Publication Date: 1 January 1981
Status: inactive
Page Count: 4
ICS Code (Examination of water for chemical substances): 13.060.50
scope:

This standard describes a method for the volumetric determination of carbon monoxide and oxygen in gases. It applies to gas derived from sludge fermentation tanks. Oxygen is determined in view of possible explosive mixes with methane (explosion limits 5-14% (V/V) in air). The determination of the carbon monoxide content is important for judging the progress of the fermentation process and the combustion value of the gas. Generally speaking the residue consist for about 90% of methane. Other components, present in smaller amounts, are sometimes also determined.
