scope:

Specifies methods for the measurement, determination and declaration of the noise emission from hand-held non-electric power tools. It also prescribes the loading and working conditions during which the measurements are made. a) Measurement or determination, under specified load conditions, of the sound pressure level at the work station; b) Measurement of the noise emission expressed as the sound power level. Typical power tools to which this noise test code applies include drills, tappers, rock drills, pavement breakers, picks and spades, chippers, riveters, scalers, rammers and tampers, grinders, sanders, polishers, nibblers, files, saws, screwdrivers, nut-runners, impact and impulse wrenches.
