This European Standard specifies the sizes, dimensional tolerances, mechanical, physical and chemical requirements, surface quality requirements and marking of ceramic tiles. It is applicable only to dust-pressed ceramic tiles, including tiles premounted on sheets of first quality, with a low water absorption (E ≤ 3%) according to Group BI of EN 87, for interior and exterior use on both floors and walls.
