scope:
This standard gives the general requirements for detectors for use in intruder alarm systems installed in and around buildings. The requirements correspond to each of the four performance levels (grades) given in the European standard for system general requirements, prEN 50111-1. Where appropriate, requirements are given for four environmental severity levels (classes) covering applications in internal and outdoor locations. This standard does not give requirements for wire-free detectors.
