This standard applies to: - rewireable plugs - non requireable plugs - portable shuttered socket-outlets - fixed shuttered socket-outlets - shuttered socket-outlets for incorporating into appliances with a rated voltage of 250V a.c. only and a rated current of 16A intended for household and similar purposes, either indoors or outdoors. This standard does not cover reqirements for flush mounting boxes: however it covers those requirements for surface type mounting boxes which are necessary for the test on the socket-outlets.
