This Standard is applicable to aluminium sulfate, special grade, used for treatment of water intended for human consumption. It specifies the characteristics of and the analytical methods for aluminium sulfate, special grade, and gives information on its use in water treatment. "Special grade" signifies that the product is subject to comply with particular technical performance in accordance with the water plant requirements such as acidification on the water. This special grade corresponds to a special composition of aluminium sulfate, such as acidity (excess of sulfuric acid) or active matter concentration in the product. It exist in both solid an liquid forms.
