NEN 1836-2

Paper - Determination of the oil absorption of the surface according to the IGT principle - Part 2: Electrically driven

active, Most Current
Organization: NEN
Publication Date: 1 April 2006
Status: active
Page Count: 13
ICS Code (Paper and board): 85.060
scope:

This standard describes a method for the determination of the oil absorption of a paper surface during printing. A droplet of oil is rolled under pressure on the paper surface. A spot is formed. The length of the spot will be determined. The length of the spot will increase as the paper is smoother and the surface of the paper is tighter. A short length of spot can be a result of a large roughness or of an open pore structure. By interpreting the test results one has to be aware that the results can be strongly influenced by test conditions, apparatus used and the status of calibration of the apparatus.
