This Part of this European Standard specifies the chemical composition of pewter alloys to be used for the manufacture of pewterware. The specifies compositions apply to the alloy in the form of ingots, sheets and blanks. The chemical compositions of the solders to be used for the joining of a) pewterware which may reasonably be expected to come into contact with foodstuffs, and b) pewterware for other purposes, are also specified.
