This standard relates to piezoelectric ceramic resonators for use in frequency selection circuits. This standard gives general information and methods of measurement and test common to many types of ceramic resonators. The applicabability of the test to each type of ceramic resonator and the specific requirements for each test shall be given in the article sheet relating to that type. In case of conflict between the requirements of this specfication and the article sheet, te latter shall take precedence. To establish uniform conditions for assessing the mechanical, electrical and climatic properties of piezoelectric ceramicc resonators, to describe test methods, to give recommendations for standard values and to give guidance for the use of such resonators.
