scope:
This standard describes three methods to determine the ash content of gelatine, viz. a normal ash deteremination, a sulphate determination and on ash determination with alkali aggregate. Usually normal ash determination will suffice. The sulphate determination has the advantage of a quick incineration. The ash determination with alkali aggregate intends to lay down volatile acid radicals.
