This European standard specifies requirements, test methods and performance criteria for resettable heat sensitive rate-of-rise point detectors without a thermostatic element. Fire detectors conforming to EN 54 Part 6 are, under certain conditions, unable to detect a fire with a slow rise of temperature (less than 5 K/min) and therefore should be used in conjunction with other detectors.
