Gives background information for Test A: Cold, of Publication 68-2-1 and Test B: Dry heat, of Publication 68-2-2. The clause dealing with test chambers includes reference to detailed appendices regarding the effects of size of chamber on surface temperature of a specimen when no forced air circulation is used; the effect of airflow on chamber conditions and on surface temperatures of test specimens; the effect of wire termination dimensions and material on surface temperature of a component; the measurements of temperature; air velocity and emissivity coefficient.
