scope:
This guidelines gives direction for the design, the implementation and the checking of cathode protection for off-shore steel structures. The guidelines applies to tcathodic protection against corrosion attack of structures (including pipelines) in seawater and in diluted seawater with an electrical resistivity smaller than 5 Ω, situated in the North Sea region. For applications of cathodic protection outside the region described, NPR 6912 applies.
