This standard serves to determine the aging characteristics of polymer interior components which are subject to increased safety requirements in the vehicle, e.g. airbag deployment.
This test serves only as a preparation for safety tests, e.g., airbag deployment. It does not represent an element of routine testing or production-related tests.
The application of this test to complex assemblies or entire vehicles makes it possible to establish the interactions between various materials within a component or between several components.
