This standard applies to protectors for use with ballast for use on a.c. supplies up to 600 V at 50 Hz or 60 Hz. This standard applies to inherent safety, to the operating values, operating times, and operating sequences where such are associated with equipment safety and to the testing of thermal protectors used to protect ballasts for tubular lamps from overheating.
