scope:

Gives guidelines and establishes requirements for inspection, maintenance, repair and remanufacture of each item of hoisting equipment, in order to maintain the serviceability of this equipment. The users/owners may choose to develop their own schedule of inspections based on experience, manufacturer's recommendations, and considerations of one or more of the following factors; environment, duration and level of severity in service, load cycles (fatique), presence of repairs, regulatory requirements.
