Fasteners - Acceptance inspection

inactive
Organization: NEN
Publication Date: 1 July 2000
Status: inactive
Page Count: 30
ICS Code (Fasteners in general): 21.060.01
scope:

Specifies the procedure to be followed by the purchaser at his acceptance inspection in order to decide whether a lot of fasteners may be accepted or rejected, when no other acceptance procedure has been agreed with the supplier at the time of ordering the fasteners. Additional specific acceptability requirements may be included within a specific product standard (for example, prevailing torque type nuts). This procedure is also to be applied when conformance to specification is disputed. It applies to bolts, screws, studs, nuts, pins, washers, blind rivets and other related fasteners not intended for high volume machine assembly, for special purpose applications or for specially engineered applciations requiring greater in-process control and lot traceability. It applies to fully manufactured products only and neither implies nor includes any particular in-process control procedure or inspection during production. The requirements apply only to the delivery conditions of the fasteners.
