This Harmonization Document deals with the maximum temperature allowed, under normal conditions of use, for the accessible surfaces of air-outlet grilles and their immediate surrounds of electric thermal storage room heaters having a rated voltage not exceeding 440 V and intended mainly to heat the room in which they are located. Thermal storage room heaters incorporating direct-heating elements are within the scope of this Harmonization Document. This Harmonization Document does not take into account the special hazards which exist in nurseries and other places where they are young children or inform persons without supervision. In such cases, additional requirements may ne becessary. This Harmonization Document does not apply to: - heaters incorporated in the building structure; - central heating systems; - installations for heating floors; - heater for saunas; - thermal storage room heaters intended to be used in locations where special conditions prevail, such as the presence of a corrosive or explosive atmosphere (dust, vapour or gas).
