NEN 2785

Air quality - Ambient air - Collection of particulate matter for the determination of the content of metals - HVS-method

inactive, Most Current
Organization: NEN
Publication Date: 1 May 1990
Status: inactive
ICS Code (Ambient atmospheres): 13.040.20
scope:

This standard describes a HVS (High Volume Sampler) method to collect on a filter particulate matter from ambient air for the determination of the contents of a number of metals in ambient air. The standard applies to the metals, lead, cadmium, copper, zinc, arsenic and chromium in finely distributed matter, as far as this matter occurs in ambient air in a solid or liquid state. The determination of elements bound to particulate matter can be considered as a multiple step process, consisting of: - collecting particulate matter on the filter of the sampling equipment, as to be described in this document; - the chemical analysis, which generally implies performing the quantative determination of the element concerned after some form of preparation of the filter sample. The inaccuracy of this chemical analysis is usually smaller than 10%.
