NEN 3134 is a supplement to NEN 1010. This means that NEN 1010 remains in force unless otherwise stated in NEN 3134. The standard is applicable to electrical installaions in rooms for medical use. The standard is NOT applicable to: a) electrical installations in rooms for veterinary medical use; b) electric conductors for the connection of parts of an electrical appliance, unless the following conditions are satisfied: 1) the conductors have been chosen and installed so that account has been taken of the mechanical loading that may occur and 2) the cores in electric circuits with different voltages that are part of a multicore conductor or that have been laid together in some other way have been insulated for the maximum voltage present; c) medical electrical equipment; d) the discharging of electrostatic charges from people and furniture other than by electrically conductive floor; e) the prevention of elecstatic charges other than by air conditioning system.
