This European Standard specifies safety requirements and test methods for custom-made mouthguards and mouth-adapted mouthguards. It includes mouthguards covering orthodontic devices such as mouth braces.
This standard does not apply to mouthguards which protect both the upper and lower teeth. This standard contains the requirements for the performance of mouthguards under impact conditions and their resistance to unintentional displacement or removal when subjected to a test force. Requirements for sizing, marking and the provision of information are also specified.
