This International Standard specifies a method for determining the water vapour transmission rate, water vapour permeance and water vapour permeability of rigid cellular plastics. The scope of this method provides for the testing of rigid cellular materials that have thickness from 3 mm to 80 mm and which may, as an integral part of the material, contain natural skins or adhered facings of some different material. The results obtained by this method are suitable for design purposes, production control and as a basis for establishing or determining conformance to product specifications.
