Is intended to replace eventually in conjunction with the other parts of this standard the IEC 538 and IEC 540. Gives for this reason in appendix A cross-references between the relevant clauses in all three publications. Lays down two methods for testing PVC componends of electric cables for power distribution and telecommunications including cables used on ships.
