scope:
Contains the requirements for safety for the design and installation of all fixed machines for the grinding and/or polishing of flat glass. Fixed machines are classified into: a) hand-held workpiece machines; b) semi-automatic machines; c) automatic machines; d) CNC automatic machines. This standard deals with all significant hazards pertinent to grinding and/or polishing machines, when they are used as intended and under the conditions foreseen by the manufacturer. This standard specifies the appropriate technical measures to eliminate or reduce risks arising from the significant hazards. This standard applies primarily to machines which are manufactured after the date of approval of the standard by CEN.
