NEN 10430

Test procedures for germanium gamma-ray detectors

inactive, Most Current
Organization: NEN
Publication Date: 1 May 1974
Status: inactive
ICS Code (Radiation measurements): 17.240
scope:

This recommendation applies to germanium detectors for gamma radiation. Germanium detectors are extensively used for the detection and analysis of gamma radiation primarily because of their excellent energy resolution. The rapid development and utilization of these detectors in a variety of technical disciplines have made standard test procedures desirable so that measurements may have the same meaning for all manufacturers and users. Finite window thicknesses and background impose limitations in accuracy for very low energies. This recommendation is not intended to imply that all tests described herein are mandatory, but only that such tests are carried out on completed devices should be performed in accordance with these recommended procedures.
