scope:
This international standard applies to electronic devices and systems designed to provide communication privacy through the techniques of encoding information prior to transmission and subsequent reconstruction of information to original form by the intended receptor. It is the intent of such systems that transmission intercepted by unauthorized receptors will prove unintelligible. This standard applies to systems acting on analogue, digital or combination of analogue and digital information.
