This standard describes a method for the quantitative determination of volatile aromatic hydrocarbons and naphtalene and halogenated hydrocarbons in soil by the purge and trap method, thermic desorption and gas chromatography. This standard is applicable to all sorts of soil. The bottom determination limit depends on the used equipment and the quality of methanol. The bottom determination limits in this standard are: Volatile aromatic hydrocarbons and naphtalene - 0,1 mg/kg. Volatile halogenated hydrocarbons - 0,01 mg/kg.
