NEN-EN 13013-3

Hydrothermal performance of buildings - Climatic data - Part 3: Calculation of a driving rain index for vertical surfaces from hourly wind and rain data

pending, Most Current
Organization: NEN
Publication Date: 1 November 1997
Status: pending
Page Count: 17
ICS Code (Waterproofing): 91.120.30
scope:

Specifies a procedure for analysing hourly rainfall and wind data derived from meteorological observations so as to provide an estimate of the quantity of water likely to impact on a wall of any given orientation. It takes account of topography, local sheltering and the type of building and wall. It specifies the method of calculation of: - The annual average index, which influences the moisture content of masonry. - The spel index, which influences the likelihood of rain penetration through masonry. The methods included in this standard do not apply in: a) areas of mountainous terrain. b) areas in which more than 25% of the annual rainfall comes from severe convective storms.
