This standard gives guidance on writing the technical specification for the procurement of water tube and shell boilers with fluidized bed firing for the production and reheat of steam associated with the generation of electricity in the electrical power supply industry. This includes boilers: With atmospheric bubbling (stationary( and atmospheric circulating fluidized bed firing system. With pressurised stationary and pressurised circulating fluidized bed firing systems. Using solid, liquid, gaseous or derived fuels. Using additives for control of gaseous emissions. With once-through or recirculation evaporators. With natural or assisted evaporator recirculation. Some of the provisions may be applicable to steam generating plant and hot water plant for other applications. The equipment and systems covered by this document are related to function rather than design type. Therefore the boiler plant requirements are stated in performance terms rather than being specified by a detailed description of the equipment supplied.
