This part of ISO 22745 contains an introduction to ISO 22745. An open technical dictionary (OTD) is a collection of technical concepts for coding master data. ISO 22745 defines a data model for a dictionary of such technical concepts, including the globally unambiguous identification of concepts, their terms, definitions and other auxiliary information about these concepts. It also provides a data model for master data coded using concepts from an OTD and for an identification guide (IG), which allows a receiving organization to specify its requirements for master data.
