This standard is applicable to instruments known as non-real time spectrum analyzers. These instrument perform an analysis of the power distribution of a signal by a sampling process. To lay down uniform methods of expression of the properties of spectrum analyzers and more particularly; to define special terminology and cataloque data related to these types of apparatus; to specify conditions and methods for testing these types of apparatus in order to verify compliance with properties claimed or specified by the manufacturer.
