This International Standard specifies a laboratory method of measuring the airborne sound insulation of building elements such as walls, floors, doors, windows, facade elements and facades. The results obtained can be used to desing building elements with appropriate acoustical properties, to compare the sound such elements according to their sound insulation properties.
