scope:
This standard describes a photometric method to determine the content of phenols volatile with water vapour in water, expressed as hydroxy benzene. It applies to any kind of water. After preparatory destillation, contents from 0.5 µ g/l can be determined by extraction with chloroform. For contents over 0.1 mg/l a direct photometric determination can be made.
