scope:
Apply to fixed or mobile machinery where permanent facilities are designed for pedestrian access. This standard presents general safety measures mainly aimed at prevention of falling and slipping. Other type of hazards are covered by EN 292-1 and EN 292-2 or specific B and C type standards. If the horizontal access way may be wed for particular means of access such as emergency exit or access fos disabled, additional requirements in addition to this standard may apply.
