This Standard specifies, by reference to EN 344:1992 and prEN 190:1993, additional requirements for safety footwear, relating to water resistance, protection against cutting by hand held chain saws, resistance to fire fighting hazards (footwear for fire fighters), metatarsal protection, electrical insulation and cut resistance. Basic and further optional requirements for safety footwear are given in EN 345:1992.
