This European Standard specifies general criteria for the procedures used in the assessment of testing laboratories including calibration laboratories, irrespective of the sector involved. It is intended for the use of testing laboratories and their acreditation bodies as well as other bodies concerned with recognizing the competence of testing laboratories. This set of criteria may have to be supplemented when applied to a particular sector.
