scope:

This standard applies to 2 pole with earth conversion adaptors applicable for connection of a plug of the European system to National systems (forward conversion adaptors) and to 2 pole and 2 pole with earth conversion adaptors for connection of a plug of National systems to the European system (backward conversion adaptors), with a rated voltage of 250V a.c. and a rated current not exceeding 16A, intended for household and similar purposes, indoors. Conversion adaptors complying with this standard are suitable for use at ambient temperatures not normally exceeding 25°C, but occasionally reaching 35°C. This standard does not cover: - Conversion adaptors having more than one socket-outlet portion - Conversion adaptors having plug or socket-outlet portion for use with class 0 equipment - Convertor plugs - Conversion adaptors containing other equipment, e.g. timers, dimmers, etc.
