scope:
This code of practice gives directions for making connections that can be used to build walls with gypsum blocks, which meet the requirements for safety, practicability and durability. The code of practice applies to walls, built with gypsum blocks with a minimum thickness of 70 mm, that are used as light non-loadbearing partition walls and are intended te separate spaces within a single house, or within a single building or part of a single building, in use by a single user. The connections to floors, walls and ceilings described in this code are such that the wall will obtain sufficient lateral support and does not experience unacceptable stresses as a result of changes in the shape of floors and ceilings. This code is intended for walls that are connected to stony walls, floors and roofs, and wooden roofs as used in newly built buildings.
