Specifies general requirements for audiometric equipment designed for use in pure tone audiometry in the frequency range from 8000 Hz to 16000 Hz, in addition to those that are applicable and specified in IEC 645-1. Ensures that extended high-frequency audiometry performed on a given human ear with different types of equipment which comply with this standard shall give substantially similar results.
