Specifies the methods of test (type testing) to be used for determining the characteristics of metal halide lamps, both single-ended and double-ended, operated on a.c. mains, 50 Hz or 60 Hz, with ballasts satisfying the requirements of IEC 923. Gives lamp dimensions, electrical characteristics for lamp starting and operation together with information for ballast, ignitor and luminaire design and colour characteristics.
