scope:
Specifies dimensional and gauging requirements for cones and sockets and performance requirements for latching connectors intended for use in medical devices, e.g. in breathing systems, anaesthetic gas scavenging systems and vaporizers. Does not specify the medical devices and accessories on which these connectors are to be provided. It is expected that requirements on the use of suitable materials and for the application of this standard will be included in particular standards for specific medical devices and accessories. Requirements for screw-threaded weight-bearing conical connectors are specified in Part 2 of this standard.
