Amendment to EN 840-6:1997. In clause 9 "lids"add a new clause 9.4. as follows: 9.4 The container shall be designed in such a manner that particularly a child's head cannot be trapped between lid and body of the container. For dome lid containers, a minimum gap of 181 mm shall be kept between lid and body of the container. This gap shall not be closed either automatically (by spring force or gravity) nor by a child' hand force. The test according to clause 4.11.5 of EN 840-5 shall be passed satisfactory.
