This standard describes a method for the polarimetric determination of the starch content of animal feeding stuffs and animal feeding stuffs ingredients. The standard is applicable to the research of animal feeding stuffs and animal feeding stuffs ingredients. The standard is not applicable to: a. products containing other insoluble optic active compounds beside starch: for example yeast, soy products, lupin; b. insulin containing products like chicory. In both cases the starch determination of NEN 3574:1974 is applicable.
